The concept of Reiki is that of a universal life force which taps into a limitless source of energy which is aware and beneficial. Reiki, therefore, is a spiritually guided life force energy. It is described as a healing, loving, creative energy that flows throughout all creation. It is heart-centered: unconditional love through touch, meditation in action.

Reiki is not a religion although some religions speak of "laying on hands" which is a distant relative of Reiki. Reiki is a scientific practice which is non-secular. Modern Reiki was developed by a Japanese doctor named Dr. Mikao Usui and spread through America with the help of Ms. Hawayo Takata of Hawaii. Its roots are deep and connect with Universal energy, Shamanistic healing, Qigong, Chakra Therapy, Therapeutic Touch, and Quantum Physics.

Erin Elam, founder of Whispering Wind Reiki, is a Reiki teacher with over 20 years experience practicing Reiki. She is schooled in the art of Reiki and she is bestowed to teach Reiki I, II and III and to offer attunements. Our rural, harmonic setting at Whispering Wind Farms offers our clients (human and animal) a peaceful atmosphere to receive Reiki and further their emotional and healing journeys.

At Whispering Wind Reiki, Reiki energy is offered, at the moment, to human, equine and canine clients. Human clients are only seen at Whispering Wind Reiki, however, farm calls to your location can be made and distance Reiki treatments are available on an ongoing basis. We prefer to perform at least one in person Reiki session prior to any distance treatments.
